Reportedly, most of the posts are by African-American women who are expressing their views about public figures, including Kasim Reed.
Following receipt of Mr. Evans' letter, it seems the web site was temporarily taken down. (Read Mr. Evan’s letter by Clicking Here).
Today it appears the web site is back up and has hired its own Washington, DC-based Super Lawyer,
Paul Alan Levy.
Apparently Mr.
Levy sent his own letter to Mr. Evans denouncing a “…woeful ignorance of (established internet)

Perhaps best known for his work with former
Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Mr. Evans is an
accomplished lawyer. He currently chairs
the Financial Institutions practice at his law firm, powerhouse McKenna Long & Aldrige.
Mr. Levy’s
letter continues by informing Mr. Evans that the comments Reed objects to will “…remain
on (his client’s web) site in perpetuity.”
Perhaps the “cherry
atop” Mr. Levy’s missive was the sentence that ended with “(Levy’s client) does
not negotiate with bullies.” Presumably, Mr. Levy was referencing Kasim
Reed.
As these legal genii
circle each other, one has to wonder whether taxpayers are paying for Kasim Reed’s ego boost à la legal fees generated by Mr. Evans?
The bully would be Randy Evans.
ReplyDeleteLast I checked? Public commentary, satire, etc. of a public figure such as the esteemed Mr. Reed is allowed, permitted, and entirely legal *provided* that there is no false statement issued in malice.
ReplyDeleteMr. Reed's own deeds prove that he is a petty tyrant - he wasted over $30,000 in tax dollars to oppress the happy singing hippies in The Park in lieu of actually addressing the causes of crime in Atlanta :) HE chose to neglect the City and its residents with HIS choices, and now he is trying to "clean up" his pre-election image with bully tactics. SHAME!
